Thermodynamic properties of toluene chloroethane systems
Abstract
The thesis embodies experimental data on
(i) vapour pressure,
(ii) vapour–liquid equilibria,
(iii) heats of mixing at 25 and 35°C, and
(iv) latent heats of vaporization
for the systems toluene and chloroethanes.
Vapour–liquid equilibrium data have been checked for their consistency by several methods.
The vapour?phase non?ideality has been corrected using virial equation of state truncated at the second virial coefficient. The second and third virial coefficients have been calculated using a three?parameter potential energy function.
Latent heats of vaporization calculated using rigorous thermodynamic relations have been compared with experimental data.
