dc.description.abstract | The thesis entitled 'syntheses and reactions of spironaphthalenones’ is presented in four chapters.
A general introduction to the chemistry of spironapththalenones covering the recent literature is given in Chapter I.
Chapter II is divided into four sections. In section I, the generality of the reaction of Spironaphthalenones la-e with NH3OH.HCL to give pyrrolotropones 2a-e has been shown.
A mechanism has been suggested for this interesting rearrangement reaction. | en |
