Numerical Techniques for reconstruction of objects from projections
Abstract
In this dissertation we consider certain alternative
procedures, viz., the g-inverse method as well as an iterative
technique based on probabilistic estimation for the reconstruction
of objects from their projections. Examples of test
pictures reconstructed using the above techniques a]?e provided.
A comparative study of these reconstruction techniques with
the existing well-known direct and iterative techniques is given

in brief.
Finally, the similarity "between the image reconstiruction
problem and the image restoration problem is established.
Image restoration consists in the removal of noise and blur
from a degraded transmitted picture. It is shown how the
image reconstruction techniques can be extended to the
restoration of blurred pictures
