From a study of ?Li NMR in single crystals of lithium acetate dihydrate, e²qQ/h and location of the EFG tensor are determined. e²qQ/h = 154.6 kHz, which, being on the higher side of the values obtained for other Li compounds, indicates a considerable degree of covalent bonding. The EFG is highly asymmetric with ? = 0.86. The z, y, and x principal components are along the b, a and c axes respectively. These results are consistent with the crystal structure analysis of Cligne et al.
