dc.description.abstract | Microwave-assisted synthesis has been extensively used to producemetal oxide, hydroxide and sulfides with unique nanostructures.In the present study, a novel, rapid and green microwave-assisted method has been developed for the synthesis ofpristine V2O5 and graphene incorporated V2O5hybrid nanocomposites. The synthesized nanocomposites are characterized by X-ray Diffraction, Fourier transform infra-red, scanning electron microscopy, UV-Visible spectroscopy and Raman. Their electrochemical performance was studied by Cyclic voltammetry and I-V measurements. The photocatalytic activity of pristine V2O5 and graphene incorporated V2O5was studied by degrading methylene blue dye using Sunlight irradiation as the light source. The kinetics of the methylene degradation is studied by calculating rate constant and the half life time of the degradation process. This study provides an effective electrode material and a novel photocatalyst for various applications in batteries and industries, respectively. | en_US |
