dc.description.abstract	A study of effect of rotation and lateral displacement on the correlation outputs when two characters are correlated optically (Taking numerals as characters) has been carried out. Thus, the feasibility of optical correlation method for character recognition systems is established. A possible scheme for a reading system has been suggested.	en_US
